How do I know if my Chase alert is real? ›

If you're ever in doubt about the legitimacy of a message that claims to be from Chase, log in to your Chase account online or through the app. If there's an issue with your account, you'll see an alert there.

Calling the Chase reconsideration line is a way for credit card applicants to request a second review of their application and potentially get their denial overturned. If you call to request reconsideration from Chase, make sure you are prepared to make an argument for why you should be approved.

They do this to trick people into providing their personal or financial information or to get you to send money. Remember: Even if your caller ID says a call or text is from Chase, it could be a scam. When in doubt hang up and call us directly.

Scammers often manipulate caller IDs so that their texts and calls appear to come from Chase. However, Chase Bank (and most other banks) use specific short codes to send fraud alerts and notifications. For example, Chase will only text you from 28107, 36640, or 72166 [*]. The text creates a sense of urgency.

We monitor for fraud 24/7 and can text, email or call you if there are unusual purchases on your credit card. To assist us, please update your phone number in case we need to contact you quickly.

Chase may contact you through an interactive text message if we have reason to believe someone may be attempting to gain access to your banking or credit card account(s). Up to ten (10) messages may be sent per incident.

Many card issuers have criteria for who can qualify for new accounts, but Chase is perhaps the most strict. Chase's 5/24 rule means that you can't be approved for most Chase cards if you've opened five or more personal credit cards (from any card issuer) within the past 24 months.

Suspect fraud on your debit card from a unauthorized merchant charge? If you think someone used your card without your permission, we can help. If you file a fraud claim, your card may be deactivated for your protection, and you may be issued a new card.

If you see a check number on your check, compare it against the number in the MICR line. This line contains the account number, the routing number, and then the check number. If the MICR line doesn't match the check number, the check is likely fake.
